Brief Profile:
It is said that Life is a Journey. When we stop, things don’t go right. Kishor’s life was also full of struggle and obstacles. He comes from economically humble background. After completing his schooling from Dhule District. There was no conducive environment for the higher education as livelihood was the major concern. Somehow he managed to complete BA graduation at Dhule district and MSW at Taloda Nandurbar District.
Kishor Patil was born to his mother Rajas and father Tumadu on 1972 in Javkheda small village Taluka Shirpur District Dhule. From child hood he developed helping nature from his father as his father was kind and use to help needy people. He has seen village people respecting his father because of his helping nature.
During MSW studies he participated in agitation to get rights of the Adivasi Youths. As a result 21 youths were enrolled in Police Service. After completing MSW studies due to humble economic condition literally he had no choice but to move from Dhule District to city area. He decided to go to Mumbai area. He had no money then his mother gave him golden Mani from her Mangalsutra he kept these Mani to money lenders and got Rs.1000/- and then went to Navi Mumbai area in search of job.
He was new to Mumbai city. In day time he used to go for in search of job and at night he used to sleep at Vashi Bus Depot. Continuous five days of searching job he finally met one man who offer him to work as watchman at vigilant security service. As he has no choice he worked as watchman and at the end of the month used to receive Rs.2300/- monthly salary. Entire one year he worked as watchman.
After few months he asked night shift and day time he kept hunting for job and also learn computer skill. While looking for work he often used to travel from train and he observed many young begging children at railway platform and young girls in flesh trade in kamathipura area. He asked Lord give me an opportunity to do something for these people and during his struggle he had many times slept empty stomach so he knew what hunger is. He kept visiting many organizations and one day he met Anson Thomas who was the founder and Trusty member of Navjeevan Centre who gave him an opportunity to work with Navjeevan Centre.
Initial days of his service in social field he was weak in Hindi and English language he could not even speak proper Hindi and English language. But gradually he learned and started working with women who were in flesh trade.
He worked 4 years for the rehabilitation of the young girls and women and children from the Kamathipura area and it was a noble work which changed his life.
While working with Navjeevan Centre he personally wanted to do something for poor and needy children of the society so he established new organization Navjeevan Lokvikas Sanstha and register under society registration act 1860.
After shifted to Kalyan area often he used to visit Bhiwandi slum area he used to observed lot of children for the livelihood they used to collect rag and used to sell to shopkeeper at low cost. These children were malnourished and deprived from one time meal therefore he started working with poor and needy rag picking children.
Today 200 rag picking children at day care centre Sardar nagar, Dongarpada and Govenaka Bhiwandi gets one time meal freely and gets basic education at Navjeevan Lokvikas Sanstha under rehabilitation of the rag picking children project. Simultaneously more than 100 young youths from middle class family undergoing training for their livelihood through Tech Mahindra CSR Project.
Today Navjeevan Lokvikas Sanstha executing various projects which empower Farmer, Women, Youths and community people to overcome their livelihood issues and becoming self reliant. This all credit goes to his Navjeevan Lokvikas Sanstha team and likeminded organization friends and various stakeholders with whom Navjeevan Lokvikas Sanstha worked.
It is said that strength and growth come only through continuous efforts and struggles. Kishor knew that every struggle he had in his life has shaped him into the person he is today. Therefore he is thankful for the hard times as this will only make him stronger. Sometimes life is about risking everything for a dream no one can see but you.
